Evaluation Description
In 2021, the March of Dimes Evaluation Team completed an evaluation about delivering Becoming a Mom during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The evaluation captured data about facilitator experiences and reflections engaged in the Becoming a Mom intervention of the Better Starts for All pilot project and other iterations of Becoming a Mom. Facilitators delivered Becoming a Mom virtually to participants in rural and urban areas.
Recommendations for opportunities to enhance facilitator training to build a supportive, respectful, and trusting prenatal group environment were included.
Contribution to Scientific Community
Findings were presented at the 2021 American Public Health Association Annual Meeting during the session entitled: “Coping with COVID-19: In the World of Women of Color and Mothers,” which was organized by the APHA Women's Caucus.
